National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

The NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) International is an initiative by national and international government entities as well as private and scholastic organizations. These bodies are dedicated to promoting wellness and better patient care in the field of stroke. NIHSS is a tool deployed by medical professionals to objectively assess the extent of severity of a Stroke. The NIHSS comprises of 11 items with total scores ranging from 0 – 42.

CRITICAL CARE RESEARCH ACADEMY

The Critical Care Research Academy is an 18-months multi-disciplinary capacity-building program supported by the World Federation of Intensive and Critical Care (WFICC). It aims to increase the research knowledge and skills of critical care practitioners in various countries within the continent of Africa. The program will involve monthly webinars, practice workshops, group discussions, and 1:1 meetings, which will be conducted virtually. The participants will learn how to develop and conduct their own research project, as well as complete a research abstract and manuscript. Each participant will be matched with a mentor to gain guidance throughout the research journey.
